About Us
The New York City Art Models Guild is a grassroots association of professional figure models working in the NYC metro area founded in 2023. Figure Modeling is a profession lodged deep within the Arts and Humanities. New York is the epicenter of a multi billion dollar Art Industry. The purpose of this website is to inform teachers, institutions, artists and places of learning the professional standards required to work with a live model across the various categories and disciplines in the visual arts. Drawing, painting, sculpture, fashion, illustration, animation , photography, costumed or nude everyone should be familiar with the Industry Standards and Best Practices are to insure that everyone knows what is expected to run a successful session. #NYCAMG offers this site as a hub of information for figure models, educators , artists and institutions alike who need to understand and implement the professional standards and protocols by which to conduct sessions using a live model.
