Celebrate The Other Side of the Canvas with us!
The New York City Art Models Guild invites you to an exceptional evening! Join us Saturday, January 16, 2027, at 414 Broadway in Manhattan for our Inaugural Gala – "The Other Side of the Canvas"! We have a night of activities designed with you in mind.

An evening of art and history
Experience an unforgettable night featuring live sketch sessions with our fabulous costumed models, with drawing supplies provided! Enter our raffle for a chance to win art supplies, and enjoy light refreshments throughout the evening. Mingle with the figure models of New York City and the artists they inspire.

Honoring legends and connecting with our guest of honor
Join us for a historical presentation highlighting two renowned figure models: Hettie Anderson, model for VICTORY at Grand Army Plaza, and Audrey Munson, model for Mourning Victory and many other NYC monuments. We are thrilled that our Guest of Honor is Pamela Munson Steadman, the fourth cousin of Audrey Munson. Don't miss this unique opportunity to connect with their legacy.

Who should attend?
This exceptional event is for artists, educators, art models, and supporters of the Arts and Humanities. Connect with peers, celebrate the art modeling community, and advocate for fair treatment and recognition for figure models. VIP reception is from 6-7 PM, and general admission begins at 7 PM. Student discounts are available with a valid ID. This is a 19+ event.
Our message: Respect and parity for art models
After the gala, we want every guest to remember that figure models are real human beings who deserve parity, respect in the workplace, and a living wage. Your presence at "The Other Side of the Canvas" helps us amplify this crucial message and advocate for our community. We cannot wait to celebrate with you!
